Technology Marketing Investment Planner 2011 by IDC Print

This is IDC's eighth year of analyzing and providing guidance on tech marketing budgets and allocations — and it will be the most dynamic that we have witnessed.

Based on IDC's annual Technology Marketing Benchmarks Survey completed in September 2010, marketing budgets for the very largest tech vendors will increase by 3.7% for the full year 2010. This rebound in budgets follows the 8.3% decline during 2009. In our opinion, better-than-expected sales volume in the first half of 2010 may have taken the marketing planners and budgeters a bit by surprise, so industryaverage marketing investment for the year will be somewhat behind industry-average revenue growth.
